The Dow Chemical Company has a new and exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Chief of Staff to be located in Midland, Michigan.
 
With the Future Dow standup and spin, and the digitalization of our enterprise, we are rebuilding HR and our whole organization. We are therefore in the search of a new role, a Chief of Staff to the CHRO. As a strategist, consultant and implementer, the successful candidate will ensure streamlined activities within the organization based on the priorities of the CHRO and the HR function. The HR Chief of Staff will handle strategic and tactical matters that will contribute to the value HR delivers, and the  long-term success of the company.
 
Examples of Chief of Staff Responsibilities:
In partnership with the CHRO, the incumbent will support and enable our business growth, driving Dow’s established business agenda and long-term growth.
  • Act as an adviser and sounding board to the CHRO.
  • Support the CHRO and HR senior leaders with coordination of people priorities and talent decisions.
  • Lead, manage and coordinate the execution of strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Assist in developing presentations, speaking engagements and other internal and external communications.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the different bodies of the HR organization, ensuring connectivity and alignment.
  • Collaborates with key partners and stakeholders outside of HR as it relates to coordination of priorities and initiatives impacting Dow.
  • Assess inquiries directed to the CHRO, determine proper course of action.
  • Ensure progress through proactive actions and measures.
  • Assist the CHRO in facilitating effective decision-making.
  • Leadership of Dow’s HR Development Program, an early career rotational program for HR professionals.

 

Requirements

The Skills & Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.  A Master's degree in one of these fields is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of  senior level experience is required. 
  • Impeccable managerial and interpersonal skills; flexible and collaborative.
  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
  • Effective, versatile, well organized and action-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
