The HR Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of HR and the department in providing a full range of administrative and supportive services. Performs a variety of HR activities including those related to Personnel record keeping and data entry, Recruitment and Staffing, Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Policies & Procedures, Employee inquiries and transactional services.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in working in an HR Office
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Experience with a Human Resources Information System
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Extreme attention to detail, highly organized
  • Highly confidential and diplomatic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially writing and proofing skills
  • Great analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with Federal, State and Local employment law, i.e. FMLA, ADA, Work Comp, etc.

 SPECIFIC DUTIES:

 

  • Provides administrative/clerical support to the HR Dept. including record keeping, personnel file maintenance, processing of HR mail, and data entry.
  • Coordinates the pre-employment process with applicants/candidates, creates new hire packets and maintains files, and assists with posting of new positions and applicant tracking.
  • Assists the Director with onboarding procedures by preparing for new hire orientation, and ensuring that Supervisors are prepared for their new hire’s first day of employment, processes new hire paperwork, payroll, benefits election, etc.
  • Assists with benefits administration and record keeping, i.e. open enrollment process, invoices, scheduling meetings and info sessions, data entry/data management, including employee’s leave time activity, accruals and balances, work comp and FMLA documents.
  • Assists Director with HR projects including research, surveys, scheduling of meetings with employees and administrators.
  • Prepares documents and maintains files on employee performance evaluations, annual compensation increases, employee years of service and all required document completion for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
  • Assists Director in completing the annual Archdiocese of Chicago audit for the Office of the Protection of Children & Youth.
  • Provides support to Director for employee events, i.e. Christmas party, Employee Appreciation and Recognition Luncheon.
  • Updates and maintains policy and procedures manuals and disseminates as needed.
  • Assists faculty and staff with HR related inquiries and transactional activity.
  • Assists with lawful compliance of all Human Resources practices with applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.
