NHR, West Road Offices, has an opening for a full-time Human Resources Coordinator with a primary focus on Recruiting. The anticipated work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. The anticipated start date for this position is immediately.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with all recruitment activities ensuring practices are compliant within NYS and agency guidelines. Assisting the HR Director in developing and implementing recruitment systems that ensure program goals and objectives are effectively and efficiently met and ensuring compliance with OPWDD regulations while maintaining the confidentiality of all agency and department information.

Be the primary backup for the Payroll Coordinator, by learning and understanding all aspects of the payroll process including but not limited to all required reporting, biweekly processing needs, timecard management, interfacing with vendors, check printing, biweekly tax processing, and garnishment processing.

When needed be available to fill in or help the HR Benefits Coordinator with the administration of NHR’s employee benefits program. This includes, but is not limited to: (a) meeting with new hires to explain employee benefits; (b) answering questions from staff regarding their benefits; (d) notifying the Director of Human Resources and Assistant HR Director when employee status changes will effect benefit enrollment; and, (e) assisting in the annual Open Enrollment process.

 

Requirements

This position requires an individual to have: (a) a well-developed ability to work independently; (b) consistent attention to details; (c) good time management skills; (d) the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously (to multi-task); (e) moderately well-developed computer skills (using standard business applications and an ability to learn HRIS packages); (f) good communications/interpersonal skills; and, (g) a commitment to providing the best possible service to NHR employees.

Master’s degree in Business or Human Resources Management and a minimum of three (3) years experience in all aspects of Human Resources.

SHRM SCP/CP designation or successful completion of Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional Certification achieved within the first year of employment.
