Human Resources Director

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for both tactical (hands-on) and strategic aspects of directing, managing and implementing a comprehensive human resources program for the Company. One HR Generalist reports to this position. Responsibilities include:

  • Manages the recruitment/staffing process for the Company. Sources, screens and interviews candidates, primarily for chemical operator and chemist positions. Manages the selection process, ensuring legal compliance in the process.
  • Oversees the effective orientation of new employees. Develops and delivers a comprehensive new employee orientation program, effectively providing new employees with vital information pertaining to policies, procedures, benefits and payroll. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of the orientation program to ensure that it remains effective and fosters a positive attitude toward Company goals.
  • Manages the Company’s benefits program such as life, health, dental and disability insurances and employee assistance program. Identifies opportunities, evaluates options, recommends solutions and implements benefit programs for the Company. Manages the communications process related to the employee benefits’ programs.
  • Manages the Company’s compensation program, including, responding to salary surveys, conducting internal job studies, evaluating & recommending grade level assignments and identifying and correcting internal equity issues.
  • Oversees the planning and execution of employee communications and employee events and activities.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, practices and reporting comply.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations and related business issues.
  • Develops and administers Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field plus a minimum of 10 years of HR experience, including management experience. Master degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in multiple human resource disciplines including recruiting, compensation practices, employee relations, talent management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR a plus
