Wasatch Pediatrics is a physician-owned group practice of 60 providers working in eight office locations throughout the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Along with 200 support staff, our clinicians provide ongoing care to thousands of infants, children and adolescents. Our mission is to provide superior pediatric care in an efficient, compassionate manner while ensuring an atmosphere that is friendly, pleasant and stimulating for patients, their families and our employees.


We are seeking a positive, emotionally intelligent human resources director to effectively support and guide our most valuable asset – our people. This is a generalist position; the HR director will be involved in all facets of human resources management. The director will optimize the handling of HR tasks and responsibilities, and will work to support high levels of job satisfaction for employees. Essential responsibilities will include:


  1. Provide support and assistance to the office managers and administration staff in recruitment efforts.
  2. Plan and conduct new employee orientation meetings.
  3. Administer timekeeping system, payroll processing, and employee benefits.
  4. Identify and facilitate training and development needs for employees.
  5. Manage and oversee employee files.
  6. Administer HR policies and procedures.
  7. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions.
  8. Receive and work to resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disputes.
  9. Accommodate employment terminations and facilitate exit forms and processes.
  10. Support employee evaluations, compensation reviews, and performance incentives.
  11. Maintain the HR information systems and employee database.
  12. Work closely with administration and physician leadership in strategic planning, corporate compliance, and other company initiatives.


Key competencies for this position include problem solving skills, good judgment, critical thinking, good written and verbal communication, integrity, and persuasive ability.


Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (or commensurate experience), and at least five years of experience in human resources or medical group management. Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare settings, SHRM, PHR, or ACMPE certification, experience working with multiple office locations, and familiarity with HR information systems.
