Position summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for oversight, implementation and coordination of health benefits, the internship program, and the Foundation’s camp program (Camp Oasis). Additionally, the Human Resources Generalist will assist with the daily administrative operations of the department, the onboarding process and provide ongoing support with various programs and projects.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Benefits Administration

  • Management of Healthcare Benefits inclusive of medical, dental, vision, Commuter Benefit Program, Flexible Spending Account & supplemental benefits
  • Oversight of Ancillary Benefits such as short-term disability, long term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and life insurance
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans and assist with claim issues
  • Organizes and manages the open enrollment meeting(s), communications, and benefit election process
  • Oversight of COBRA administration process
  • Promote our Health Wellness program and lead the wellness committee
  • Periodically circulate retirement plan information to employees that qualify for catch-up contributions

Management of HRIS Systems

  • Maintain personnel records including entering New Hires, Processing Status Changes & separations
  • Provides payroll processing backup support and partners with members of the finance department
  • Gather and analyze data in the preparation of the monthly Turnover Report
  • Prepare periodic reports for Senior HR Management, as necessary or requested

Administrative Operations:

  • Maintain employee personnel files (electronic and paper form)
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification process; periodically conduct internal audits
  • Files the EEO-1 report annually and create dashboards
  • Assists Senior HR Team with the administration, monitoring and oversight of the employee incentive plan
  • Develop and implement a robust internship program
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

Bill Reconciliation

  • Assist Payroll Manager with the reconciliation and payment of welfare, service, advertising and other miscellaneous bills.
  • Process and code all HR department bills
  • Pull reports as needed for bill paying and requests from management

Recruitment/Onboarding process

  • Coordination of the Camp Oasis program (recruitment, background checks, payment etc.)
  • Develops and schedules new hire benefits orientations


  • Deliver a high-level service to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Display honest, trustworthy, and ethical behavior when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Display enthusiasm and promote a collegian working environment
  • Regular attendance that is punctual and dependable


Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of HR generalist experience
  • Outstanding knowledge of HRIS (i.e. Paycom, ADP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel is a must)
  • Experience with benefits administration and other human resources programs
  • Possesses superb oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and confidentiality
