Human Resources Manager

 

 

Reporting to:             Deputy General Manager ATL/ Chief Operating Officer

                                    Corporate HR Manager, Sanford FL

                                   

Location:                    Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, GA

 

General Responsibilities:

 

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing direction on and management of all human resource functions for the TBI AM team at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport including policy development, employee relations/retention and training programs. 

 

Major Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Manages all employee relations activities including benefit and compensation programs, performance management systems, communication and recognition systems, total rewards, employee safety, affirmative action initiatives, internal and external recruitment and employment activities and succession planning activities.
  • Oversees the management of employee relations including investigation, documentation and resolution.  Works directly with all management personnel as needed to provide advice/guidance and assistance to them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  •  Interfaces with corporate HR regarding any complaints of sexual harassment, discrimination or other conduct prohibited by law and, as applicable, administers the local internal investigation of all such complaints. 
  •  Responsible for all aspects of the training cycle, from assessment of needs, development and delivery through to evaluation.
  • Oversees the administration of the human resources policies and procedures and HRIS maintenance for all Atlanta personnel.
  • Collaborates with corporate HR in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, etc.).
  • Creates and reviews job descriptions; directs job analyses as required to ensure that job descriptions accurately reflect the duties and responsibilities of each position.
  • Interfaces with corporate HR to facilitate and ensure compliance with any corporate HR initiatives. Assists in the recruitment effort for all management level personnel.
    • Ø  Maintains knowledge of federal and applicable state employment regulatory and legal requirements and ensures compliance therewith.
    • Ø  Responsible for management and oversight of all other human resource functions for TBI AM at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
    • Ø  Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business management/administration or human resources and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the human resources field or equivalent education/experience, with at least three (3) years of human resources management experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general HR policies and procedure.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including computer literacy, particularly with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • Willingness to serve as an example of customer service excellence in all situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with TBI employees, airline employees, vendors and subcontractors.

 

Working Conditions:

 

Physical Effort:

 


While performing the duties of the position, the employee will work in an office environment which is well-lit and air conditioned. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the course of daily activities. The employee is required to work on a computer, in addition to doing paper work.  

 

Mental Effort:

 

Position involves encounters with employees, vendors, subcontractors and members of the public. The employee must be sensitive and responsive to the needs of management and the employees. There is stress associated with responding to/solving problems of employees. The position requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment.

Normal Working Hours:

 

The normal working hours for this position will be Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm or an alternative schedule pursuant to TBI policy.   Occasional extended hours are expected to be acceptable.
