  • Assist in the overseeing employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Plan, organize, and implement training programs and activities that will improve productivity and help meet company goals. Assess gaps in competencies; aid in the improvement and enhancement of existing skills; direct structured learning experiences.
  • Maintain employee benefit programs and inform employees of benefits; directing the processing of benefit claims; designing and conducting educational presentations on benefit programs.
  • Ensure that the new hire orientation process properly introduces new employees to the corporate culture.
  • Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
  • Maintain management guidelines and work structure by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures; update job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Come up with methods for improving overall employee satisfaction and determine ways to measure employee morale.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing current and applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization to outside professional and legal administration.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records. Carry out a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities, including computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing requests for paycheck advances, and processing terminations.
  • Complete the preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll for designated location/division; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service; handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system; monitor submissions of approved timesheets, and adherence to FLSA.
  • Establish and maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to APA policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.

Requirements

College Degree or Equivalent Work Experience

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred
