Position Description:

The Human Resources Manager resources reports directly to the Vice President with responsibility to coordinate HR policies and programs at the local site.  The Human Resources Manager works closely with the Human Resource team in developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing HR policies, programs, and activities.  The Human Resources Manager will also collaborate with other members of the HR leadership team to determine overall strategy for HR programs. The HR manager will partner with local site management to ensure all needs are met about Human Resources.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Works with site to infuse Hedgehog behaviors into the organization through all HR programs and processes
  • Works with social committees and site managers to connect local employees to community through various channels

 

Requirements

Skills and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in human resource generalist roles.
  • Working knowledge of employee recruitment, attraction, engagement, and retention strategies and how to practically apply to varied employee segments.
  • Experience supporting business leaders and teams located outside of HQ.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Talent for diplomatic, unbiased communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to influence and guide leaders towards the best course of action.
  • Able to excel in an ever-changing environment using an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of recruitment tools and performance management tools
  • Able to travel outside of TX location if needed
