BAE Systems is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager who will act as a business partner with assigned groups by understanding desired business outcomes and providing both strategic and operational guidance and recommendations.

Position Summary

The HR Manager will implement Human Resources programs and policies as a consultant, partnering with business operations and direct reports to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and resolves HR issues. This role requires a collaborative team player to drive outstanding HR support.

Position is based in McLean, VA office. Some travel required to customer sites.

Essential Functions

This role will provide strategic partnership and hands on support to assigned business groups and employees to deliver business to deliver initiatives that drive business results through people initiatives both now and in the future.

The HR Manager will:

  • Provide proactive employee relations, manager coaching, and partner with assigned managers to create a culture that supports business growth or business rightsizing
  • Collaborate with the Centers of Expertise (COEs) and all elements of the HR delivery model to ensure the delivery of world class HR services and programs to address critical business needs and employ effective measures of success
  • Responsible for and/or serves as a HR liaison for the following areas: succession planning, talent management, employment, employee relations, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, EEO, and training and development
  • Partner with assigned managers and direct reports to identify top talent and succession candidates and provide support to the Management Readiness Review planning process at the business unit level
  • Support business activities that support a culture that is inclusive and diverse
  • Provide guidance and coaching to management in the delivery of compensation programs like annual salary planning
  • Act as a change agent for key HR and business changes and provide project management for assigned key HR projects
  • Support the mitigation of human capital related business risks and compliance activities
  • Manage a small HR team and provide leadership by fully implementing all principles of performance management within the team, including regular coaching, training and feedback sessions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related disciple
  • Must have minimum 10 years of related/ relevant work experience
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Strong organizational and execution skills.
  • Strong business acumen and
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of responsibilities
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required)
Highly desired, but not required:
  • MBA or other advanced degree with concentration in Human Resource Management or related field
  • Active DoD security clearance Min TS
  • Experience working within shared services HR delivery model
  • Defense Industry experience
  • Global Mobility
  • Certified by HRCI as PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
