Position:            Human Resources Manager

Reports To:          President

Position Summary:

Aerospace Manufacturer seeking experienced HR Manager with payroll experience to lead the Human Resources function for the Manufacturing Operations in Westbury, NY. Reporting directly to the President, this position is directly responsible for the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources program.

 Essential Job Functions:   

  • Provides advice and counsel to the President regarding employee relations matters, employee retention strategies, company policies and Human Resources
  • Provides day to day support and problem resolution to all facility personnel regarding employee concerns, questions and policy issues.
  • Works in conjunction with Accounting to oversee payroll and helps provide direction to the process.
  • Leads the recruiting program. Develops programs and initiatives to attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensures that the performance management program is administered properly and in compliance with company policy and guidelines.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to employment law.
  • Oversees the preparation and issue of Employee Handbooks, Policy Statements and corporate communications.
  • Ensures that all benefit programs are administered in an effective manner and in compliance with corporate and local company policies.
  • Consults with legal counsel on personnel matters as appropriate
  • Oversees the general administration processes of the Human Resources Department, including the HRIS system, FAA Drug Test compliance and responses to all inquiries and requests for information from Federal, State and Local agencies.
  • Completes and maintains the annual Affirmative Action Program.
  • Plans, coordinates and implements all company employee social events efforts and activities.
  • Understands basic financial analysis and makes responsible budgetary decisions.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited university or college or six years related leadership experience and/or training.
  • Three or more years of experience in a human resources leadership role.
  • Experience managing the payroll function is preferred.
  • Two or more years working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment is preferred.
  • ADP Vantage or ADP Workforce Now knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or executive leadership. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
