The Instructor Relations Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall management of 300+ instructors in order to support the delivery of products and services.  He/she will lead the policy and performance management of the instructor cadre while collaborating with the Resource Management team and other department leaders. This role will also provide support in all areas of Resource Management to include: proposals, database management, HR management, system implementations, and administration.    

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all instructor policy and performance issues (before, during, and after class)
  • Monitor and manage instructor compliance with policies and procedures
  • Lead all proposal efforts and provide instructor data, resumes, and information as needed
  • Manage instructor performance by reviewing all evaluations and analyzing all available session data
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve performance and policy issues 
  • Take corrective action or provide coaching to increase evaluation scores and customer/client satisfaction 
  • Design and implement an overall performance management strategy to ensure high quality sessions
  • Conduct ongoing performance and policy analysis to identify trends and areas of weakness
  • Create, update, and maintain the performance management plan and instructor handbook
  • Provide guidance and suggestions for matching instructors to assignments to maximize delivery quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct in-person classroom observations for new or poor performing instructors as needed
  • Review post-class instructor feedback forms and forward pertinent information to key stakeholders
  • Compile, analyze, track, and report key performance metrics and instructor data
  • Work with IT team to troubleshoot systems and/or database issues
  • Maintain, update, and store instructor information (resumes, rates, contracts, and contact/personal information)
  • Ensure instructors are registered, set-up, and/or added to all necessary databases
  • Ensure all instructor related corporate policies/forms are up to date
  • Draft and send out instructor communication and updates
  • Play an active role in representing, managing and supporting 300+ instructors
  • Other Resource Management related duties as assigned

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven self-starter capable of driving team goals and corporate initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to objectively assess instructor performance and suggest improvement plans
  • Ability to have difficult and/or challenging conversations
  • Excellent mentoring and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to follow processes, and attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to compile, analyze and leverage data to achieve goals
  • Strong collaboration, networking, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Familiarity with the principles of delivering competency-based, student-centered learning to adults
  • Proficiency with Metrics That Matter (MTM) evaluation database
  • Proficiency with Adobe Connect
  • MS Office Suite and database applications

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of management experience in the professional services field 
  • Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with independent contractors
  • Previous experience working in a performance management and/or policy enforcement capacity
