The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, the site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.

The Leadership Development Consultant is responsible for establishing and maintaining the strategic direction of the leadership development programs at Allina Health by leveraging and enabling the Allina Health Leadership Model mindset of Courage, Openness, Humility and deepening our strategic capabilities of See the Big Picture, Inspire Greatness, Foster Growth & Development, Deliver Excellence and Succeed Together. They will assess and evaluate organizational needs for programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of employees.This position is integral in creating and carrying out the learning and development strategies and programs that focus on the leadership capabilities, mindset and behaviors to increase the overall capabilities of our leaders and emerging leaders.This position will ensure Allina Health is positioned to develop leader’s capability to lead self and others so that team goals are achieved and tied to key objectives and performance pillars, leaders and team members feel invested in their development, and practices of self-care and care of colleagues are part of team routines. Ultimate goal is to have this function create leadership development as a competitive advantage for Allina Health.Leadership Development & Deployment:- Creates career paths/tracks for leaders at all levels, including new leaders- Evaluates the effectiveness of leadership development programs and acts to address findings from those evaluations.- Strategic Planning- Leads and directs the leadership development planning for system- Partners with HR business partners to connect local needs to leadership development programs- Incorporates strategic initiatives and messages such as Allina Health Improvement System components and Safety into all programs.- Creates and enhances leadership programs that can be incorporated into existing venues- Partners with system leaders to create programs that will address or solve business problems.- Partners with clinical and system education resources to incorporate key leadership development elements into trainings.Operations:- Models Allina Health Leadership Model capabilities and mindset in all interactions.- Continuously review program for improvement opportunities- Key contact for business units in addressing learning and development needs- Gain acceptance and creates strong partnerships with leaders and HR business partners for deployment and evaluation- Strategizes with business unit leadership around priorities in relationship to strategic initiatives and learning solutions- Identifies and partners with external organizations to implement the programs that match Allina Health needs- Manages program budgets of approximately $250K+ and finds ways to supplement learning experiences- Continuously monitor key metrics for system to ensure value added and capabilities are increasing- Develops standard learning targeted solutions across business unit


Bachelor’s degree in Education or Industrial Psychology or related field.Master’s degree preferred.


5+ years experience in learning and development

Monday - Friday, regular office hours
