We are seeking an Employee Relations Manager to support the Human Capital department and the organization in maintaining a safe, healthy, productive, legally compliant, harassment and discrimination free work environment. In this newly created role, reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Human Capital, the Employee Relations Manager will plan, coordinate and conduct the overall activities of confidential internal investigations of varying levels, with a specific focus on potential violations of law, organizational policy, and our Standards of Excellence. The Employee Relations Manager will also serve in the capacity of an aide and resource to employees and leadership to ensure that the organization maintains its high ethical and legal standards, strengthens its workplace policies, processes and procedures, all which are ultimately designed to safeguard and protect the safety and well being of the children and families we serve.


  • Conduct and manage fact finding workplace investigations concerning matters related to potential violations of the law, organizational policy, non-compliance, unethical behavior, and misconduct
  • Document investigative interviews and collect, protect, and retain pertinent information and evidence
  • Review, assess, and interpret information and evidence gathered from investigations
  • Provide regular updates on investigations, both orally and in writing, to AVP Human Capital and senior leadership

  • Attentively manage-at times simultaneous-investigations to ensure matters are resolved timely and appropriately
  • Draft clear and meaningful reports at the conclusion of investigations for HR, senior leadership, and legal counsel review
  • Field and promptly respond to employee concerns and complaints, providing timely appropriate resolution, and commencing investigations as needed
  • Provide guidance and support to employees at all levels concerning workplace policies and procedures
  • Work closely with the Human Capital team and senior leadership to implement consistent and approproiate corrective and preventative actions as needed
  • Keep abreast of and maintain working knowledge of NY Labor Laws and legal requirements authored by government regulatory agencies, including the Department of Homeless Services, Administration for Children's Services, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute series of compliance and legal trainings for front line employees and managers
  • Performs other duties as assigned



  • A commitment to the mission and programs of Win
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field with 5 to 7 years' experience in an HR role with an emphasis on employee relations; Master's Degree and/or HR certification(s) is a plus
  • Knowledge of general workplace policies and labor and employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in conducting workplace investigations and drafting reports on investigation
  • Must possess high credibility and absolute commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity
  • Ability to travel to Win's worksite locations to conduct investigations
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent time management skills, coupled with a strong yet measured sense of urgency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Outlook
  • Must be familiar with and have appreciation for issues prevalent in underseved communities of color
  • Some knowledge of education, social services, and non-profit sectors is desired
