The Role:
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial leader to help shape Morning Consult’s rapid and sustainable growth. As head of the People and Talent team, this role is responsible for all aspects of talent recruiting and retention – from implementing learning and development programs, to cultivating a welcoming and inclusive community, to managing the candidate pipeline.
Successful candidates will be able to bring projects and processes to life through a combination of strategic vision and tactical execution, carefully balancing the “leading” and “doing” aspects of the role. Trustworthiness, empathy, and a solid business sense are critical. Furthermore, ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to build rapport and serve as a trusted advisor to a highly-skilled collection of individuals that range from designers to data scientists. 
Those in this role will not only have the opportunity and resources to build a People & Talent team, but also help shape the company’s direction and growth alongside Morning Consult’s leadership. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive organizational development of HR-initiatives from conceptualization, implementation and continuous improvement, including performance management, compensation, and employee engagement
  • Oversee and own the recruiting lifecycle, including building an internal sourcing capability, managing outside recruiters, and directly interviewing and assessing candidates 
  • Serve as a mature coach, mentor, and advisor to staff by forming  trusted relationships 
  • Help lead the planning and execution of team- and community-building initiatives that promote a cohesive, welcoming, and diverse culture across geographically distributed staff
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to leadership team 


Desired Skills: 
  • 5+ years’ experience leading HR and/or talent operations in high growth organization (tech, professional services, or research industries preferred)
  • Comfort and flexibility in the face of ambiguous, high-pressure situations 
  • Familiarity with HRIS, ATS and other related software 
  • Experience building measurable data-driven systems to inform better decisions 
  • Ability to own, advocate, and build consensus for the ideas you believe in
  • Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement
