The Manager, Organizational Development will support planning, designing, and executing programs, tools, and solutions to ensure the organization is equipped to meet its workforce and business needs.  This position provides support and guidance in talent management, organizational development, and change management to enhance the organization’s overall effectiveness and capability.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Management Strategy and Solutions (30%)

  • Develops, implements, and maintains a company-wide competency framework to drive organization strategy and values.
  • Develops, implements, and manages the organization’s performance management and succession planning tools, processes, and training to ensure clarity and alignment of goals and to meet current and future business needs.
  • Researches, develops, and implements best practices to assess the organization’s performance to the industry norm and to align Organizational Development’s practices with business needs, initiatives, and strategic direction.

 

Provides Strategic and Tactical Organizational Development (20%)

  • Provides thought leadership to business leaders to enhance organizational design and effectiveness, culture, and talent capabilities.
  • Serves as an advisor to business leaders to provide guidance and to improve individual, team, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Interfaces with Human Resources Business Partners, learning and leadership development to identify organizational development needs (e.g., organization design, team and leader effectiveness, talent strategies and tactics, change management plans, etc.).
  • Provides consulting in organization design, employee surveys and action plans, change management, group facilitation, and coaching to support business leaders in achieving strategic and business objectives.
  • Develops and implements project plans and leads all project management phases for organizational development engagements to attain desired outcomes and accomplish objectives within specified timeframe and budget.
  • Identifies risks and barriers to success of projects, plans, and programs.

 

Assesses Organization Effectiveness and Engagement (20%)

  • Creates implementation plans and collaborates with internal communications to develop engagement assessment rollout material, key findings/summary reports, and action planning toolkits.
  • Conducts organizational diagnostics and gap analysis; articulates findings to identify strengths, opportunities, gaps, risks, challenges, and potential solutions to deliver organizational effectiveness initiatives and services.
  • Researches trends and remains current with organizational developments, techniques, and technologies to support current and changing needs of the organization.
  • Develops and executes change management plans for projects, initiatives, organizational structure, and culture changes.

 

Manages the Organizational Development Function (15%)

  • Develops and implements organizational development strategies and best practices to strengthen the organization’s capability and to ensure alignment with business initiatives and strategic direction.
  • Plans, designs, and integrates solutions to ensure the organization is equipped to meet its workforce and business needs.
  • Defines and implements organizational development processes to drive productive behavior and to facilitate the organization’s culture aligning with its strategic direction and values.
  • Maintains knowledge of organizational development strategies of the restaurant industry and FOCUS Brands’ competitors.
  • Participates in developing the Organizational Development budget and monitors the expenditures to deliver cost efficiencies and to operate within the established budget.
  • Tracks and monitors expenditures and budget variances and seeks cost savings opportunities to support cost efficiency and to operate within the established budget.
  • Establishes, monitors, and reports on Organizational Development’s metrics to keep stakeholders well informed, to track effectiveness, to ensure alignment with the business direction, and to adjust practices accordingly.

 

Manages Vendor, Internal, and External Relationships (10%)

  • Develops and maintains positive business relationships with associates, vendors, stakeholders, etc. which fosters an environment for mutual respect, understanding, and support.
  • Holds others accountable for exhibiting standards for conducting business in a legal and ethical manner, obeying policies and laws related to business and employment.
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with stakeholders to understand business goals, to identify development needs and solutions, and to ensure initiatives are aligned.
  • Advises stakeholders on trends and strategies to achieve initiatives through a high performing workforce and to anticipate future needs.
  • Partners with stakeholders (i.e., Human Resources Business Partners and Human Resources Vice President) on the development of employee engagement strategies to achieve significant organizational performance and success.

Performs Other Responsibilities As Assigned

Requirements

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • 4-6 years of Human Resources experience required
  • 3 -6 years in Organizational Development required, specifically in organization design, organizational effectiveness, and associate engagement
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred, with emphasis in Organizational Development, or Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  • Project management experience, developing and implementing strategic initiatives, and leading large-scale change
  • Demonstrated experience in competency modeling, job analysis, and employee/skill assessment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to guide an organization in implementing changes that are sustained and integrated into the business; Ability to identify implications of change
  • Ability to manage all phases of projects; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to get things done on time and with quality; Applies a consistent, effective approach to planning and executing consulting projects
  • Ability to facilitate different types of group discussions and meetings (e.g., focus groups, brainstorming, mind mapping, etc.)
  • Ability to develop and apply creative, thoughtful solutions to business challenges
  • Ability to build and maintain credibility; Ability to influence decision-making without direct line authority
  • Ability to collaborate across functions to ensure consistency of people-related processes
  • Ability to convey clear, concise information in verbal, written, electronic, and other communication formats; and to demonstrate active listening while engaging others
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of stakeholders (e.g., internal and external customers, etc.) in a timely manner
  • Ability to maintain and handle matters of confidentiality with utmost tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships and foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and support
