We are looking to hire a Payroll Coordinator to join the growing Human Resources team. This position would interact with managers across multiple locations around the country in a fun, fast paced environment. The role would report directly to the Head of HR but would constantly collaborate with all other departments within the company. Below are key responsibilities and qualifications wanted:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains payroll data by collecting, calculating, and entering correct information.
  • Perform bi-weekly payroll to ensure efficient and accurate payment of wages, bonuses and allowances.
  • Process contract employee hires and all terminations, including calculating final check.
  • Tracks employee status and salary changes.
  • Responsible for final review and coordination with Payroll Paychex Rep before payroll is pushed through.
  • Handles administration, set up and ordering of electronic timekeeping system in all 16+ locations.
  • Resolve payroll inconsistencies by analyzing missing information.
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests to all employees and managers.
  • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes on a timely basis.
  • Strictly follows compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Communicate with managers to approve or decline vacation/sick requests on payroll system.
  • Prepare miscellaneous payroll-related correspondence, memos, spreadsheets, reports and forms as needed.
  • Run reports to ensure accurate amount of hours and/or overtime are calculated for current pay period.
  • Issue written and oral instructions to managers and new employees regarding time sheets, time and labor functions and payroll procedures.
  • As time permits assist human resources department with various projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience working in a Human Resources department with a deep understanding of Payroll, Wage and Salary, PTO accrual and nationwide overtime law.
  • 1-3 years working with a payroll system- Paychex or ADP system preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be personable with a “roll your sleeves up” attitude.
  • Experience working with confidential information.
  • Self-prioritization and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Word and Excel.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
