Position Summary:

The Recruitment & Retention Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding qualified Plant Hourly and Office Hourly employees for Truck-Lite’s McElhattan location. Additionally, this position is responsible for facilitating employee retention efforts and managing employee recognition and morale-boosting initiatives to assist in employee retention.

  

Primary Responsibilities:

Recruitment, Hiring, & On-Boarding:

  • Coordinate and track internal job postings and bids for internally open positions
  • Advertise externally open positions using a variety of mediums including radio, print, and online
  • Maintain applicant tracking records
  • Track voluntary demographic information for new hires for Affirmative Action Program
  • Screen applications and select applicants for interviews
  • Schedule applicants for interviews
  • Conduct interviews and make offers to viable candidates
  • Make occupational health appointments for prospective new hires
  • Send in background check paperwork
  • Receive and review results of background checks, physicals, and drug screens, determining eligibility for hire based on those results
  • Schedule new hires for orientation and make work assignments in coordination with applicable supervisors/managers
  • Provide data and reports on the recruitment and hiring of new employees
  • Process recruitment-related invoices
  • Review new hire paperwork for completeness
  • Verify eligibility to work using E-Verify
  • Track voluntary demographic information for new hires
  • Coordinate, process, and monitor contract staffing needs
  • Coordinate orientation and on-boarding for contracted staff hires
  • Review and process contract agency invoices
  • Work closely with local organizations to establish and maintain employment referral partnerships, including Careerlink
  • Record referral awards and sign-on bonuses and eligibility

Retention:

  • Conduct periodical check-ins with new hires to aid and assess their on-boarding
  • Conduct, gather, and analyze exit interview data
  • Coordinate, enhance, and monitor employee retention efforts
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly employment / labor reports
  • Process and track employee feedback sheets (colored sheets)

Employee Recognition:

  • Track and maintain the Employee Fund and order bereavement gifts as needed
  • Coordinate and organize employee recognition, appreciation, and morale-boosting events and initiatives, including the employee picnic, holiday event, fundraising initiatives, weekend appreciation food orders for employees, and Employee of the Month program

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably with a strong background in employee recruitment
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and comfort utilizing a variety of advertising mediums, including radio, online, paper, and other ways to reach potential candidates
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Strong ability to establish and foster productive interpersonal relationships to assist in a team-oriented approach to recruitment and hiring and to make recruitment connections with outside organizations
  • Ability to consistently keep track of and meet deadlines
  • Ability to think critically, use good judgment, and know when to seek assistance in handling challenging recruitment and retention issues
  • Strong computer skills, including comfort with working in multiple databases and in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Position requires compliance with the Technology Control Plan and the Federal Export Control Policy established for the Corporation.
