Are you interested in a challenging opportunity working for an industry-leading construction company?  Granite Construction, Large Projects Group is seeking a Regional Human Resources Manager to support its Central and West regional operations.
 
This position will be based in either our Lewisville, TX or Sacramento, CA regional office with responsibilities for a wide-range of HR activities including administering regional recruiting, employee relations, benefits, compensation, training and development, talent management and labor relations with a goal of maximizing employee engagement.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Coaching, consulting and training management and employees on best human resource practices & employee relation procedures. Providing guidance on various federal and state laws effecting employment.
  • Serve as a liaison between the operating Group office and the field to effectively communicate and educate about policies/ procedures and new program rollouts.
  • Coordinating the Employee Dispute Resolution Program, conducting internal investigations and recommending solutions regarding complaints to ensure employees are treated fairly as well as compliance with company policy.
  • Partner with regional management team to identify, grow and develop the Granite’s talent pool.  Develop a solid recruiting network which ensures a pool of top talent available to meet the need of the region
  • Guide, train, and coach employees and managers on performance management practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
  • SPHR certification desired 
Work Experience
 
  • Minimum 7 years Human Resources generalist experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information of employees.
  • Ability to cultivate high trust, professional, and respectful relationships with all employees to ensure the highest level of effectiveness as an HR professional.
  • Knowledge of HR regulations and laws including ADA, FMLA, EEO, Labor Unions, FLSA
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills a must.
  • Leadership skills to promote and influence a positive work environment.
  • Ability to travel 50% of time, including overnight stay.  This position is responsible for geographic regions in the central and western part of the United States.  Travel to corporate, regional, and project offices is expected.
