General Summary 

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner Provides broad scale expert consultation, direction and guidance to WPMG medical leadership. Serves as a strategic business partner and advocate in support of providers and leaders on a full range of operational HR activities within the service areas assigned. Partners with WPMG clinical leadership to support the needs of the medical group and will formulate strong partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The Senior HR Business Partner provides broad scale expert consultation, direction and guidance to executives and their leadership teams. Accountable for conducting and responding to investigations, disputes, physician issues, questions and concerns. Consults with leadership and external legal counsel as needed pertaining to complex employee relations issues. Under the direction of physician leadership and legal counsel, may assist with and coordinates responses to external complaints, charges, and litigation. The Senior Human Resources Business Partner serves as a resource for WPMG leadership providing consultation on a wide variety of HR issues including interpretation and application of WPMG policies, discipline, performance management, and HR practices. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Consultation
• Partners with medical leadership (Human Resource Medical Director, Chiefs, Directors of Operations, Physicians–in-Chief & Medical Directors) to manage and resolve strategic, complex employee relations issues. 
• Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Maintains knowledge base of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of providers to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Partners with external legal counsel as needed.
• Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions and terminations). 
• Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
• Works closely with medical leadership and providers to improve relationships, build morale, and increase productivity. 
• Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs. Participates in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follows-up to ensure training objectives are met.
• Travels periodically to attend local and national events. 
• Builds rapport, develops useful relationships, and establishes trust to influence managers and employees.
• Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Administrative department peers to develop solutions, programs and policies. 
• Conducts policy guidance and interpretation and periodically reviews company processes, procedures, and programs to ensure efficiency, fairness, alignment with business needs, and compliance. 
• Manages complex and difficult HR Projects cross-functionally
• Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
• Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Facilitates cases of employment termination, disciplinary action, performance improvement activities, and workforce reductions. 
• Takes a fair and balanced approach in all situations and is a trusted adviser to business leaders through coaching and mentoring.

Partnership
The ideal candidate develops effective working relationships with WPMG Clinical leadership and KPWA Clinical Operations Managers to support business objectives:
• Partners to implement department initiatives, policies, practices, and department work plans.
• Champions and promotes training initiatives to all WPMG employees.
• Acts as the driver for individual and team performance improvement, and takes an active role in problem solving.
• Provides exceptional customer service and satisfaction to employees and leaders by building rapport, developing useful relationships, and establishing trust to exercise influence. 
• Is a resource and guide for Chiefs as they work to identify & address HR issues at their clinic sites.
• Empowers leaders with increased HR knowledge and skills.
• Integrates company-wide strategic plans, projects and objectives into internal customer groups.

Experience

Certification Required: Membership in SHRM or ASHHRA

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: 8+ year’s relevant HR experience in a healthcare environment with significant employee relations experience and knowledge of applicable regulations and trends. Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects from a wide variety of customers in a confidential manner.

Preferred

Certification: SPHR or CHHR certification

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field

Experience: 3 Experience in a Labor/Management Partnership environment and/or Medical Staff Services department.
