Acting as a strategic business partner, the position will provide human resources consultation to assigned business groups within Manufacturing Plant and Operations business unit, in an environment of rapid transformation efforts. The Sr. HRBP will build relationships with the assigned Business leaders and their respective organizations and will serve as a catalyst in delivering HR solutions that support the specific needs of each assigned group and overall business objectives. The Sr. HRBP is a consultant to management on talent acquisition and talent management, organizational development, employee relations, leadership coaching and partners with our COE’s to deliver and implement solutions in the areas of Benefits and Compensation, Leadership Development, etc. The Sr. HRBP should proactively assess and diagnose organizational issues in partnership with Management. Making recommendations and implementing solutions to attract, motivate, develop and retain employees will be crucial for success. Additionally, the Sr. HRBP will ensure implementation, on-time delivery, and high quality on all HR deliverables and projects.

Essential job functions: 

  • Perform front line HRBP duties for assigned large/complex client group(s) including performing complex investigation, handling non-routine employee issues, performing complex compensation analysis, interpreting and advising management.
  • Design and administer more complex proactive programs, procedures and plans as it relates to driving employee engagement and employee relations, change management, talent development.
  • Advise Business Operations Leadership and/or partners with HR specialty areas in the utilization and implementation of HR programs.
  • Investigate complex employee complaints in partnership with the legal department and recommend solutions to resolve complaint.
  • Lead special projects (e.g. RIF, acquisition and divestitures, litigation support, process improvement projects).
  • Provide input for strategic activities for assigned large/complex client group(s), including identifying critical HR metrics and new business strategies and talent issues before they affect the business.
  • Advise and coach leadership on a variety of business issues that impact talent and/or business operations.
  • Assess complex HR issues that require considerable judgment and risk management where EW policies and practices do not exist.
  • Prepare talent development review (TDR) materials, facilitate TDR meetings, and train new managers on process.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to lower level HR business partners.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or other related field plus a minimum of 5 years related experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment of change and competing priorities with 7-10 years of overall HR experience strongly preferred. 
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Operations environment preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM- CP/ SHRM-SCP certification highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of HR functional areas including: Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Leadership Development and Organizational Development.  
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state employment laws and compliance implications.
  • Must desire a high level of autonomy to manage multiple ongoing issues and complex employee relations matters with minimum supervision and with excellent execution.
  • Proven success leading change, leading project schedules and managing projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation and facilitation skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including consultative and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability for negotiation and influencing change and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Ability to manage internal and external confidential information with utmost discretion, strict attention to detail and ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams, assigned client group(s), and key contacts representing the organization on contracts or projects.
  • Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships, interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Substantial problem-solving, risk assessment, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to determine next course of action.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and working knowledge of HR systems (e.g Peoplesoft, Taleo, Kronos).
