Job Summary



This position exists to provide consultative support for workforce issues that impact the overall operational strategy for the core business functions of the organization. The incumbent acts as a subject matter expert on policies, procedures, employment law, and fundamentals of all core areas of human resources and ensures ease of access to HR deliverables for operations clients.



  1. Develops and executes strategies in collaboration with HR Director, human resources staff and operations’ leadership to support business objectives.  Specific focus is on improving retention and employee satisfaction and meeting department and hospital strategic goals. 
  1. Participates in various activities related to employee relations to include:  conflict resolution, providing counseling to managers and staff of low to high complexity, conducting interviews (follow-up, exit, focus group).   Assists management with assessment of performance improvement needs and the development of associated action plans. 
  1. Conducts investigations for a variety of issues to include EEOC charges, Business practice complaints, Texas Workforce Unemployment Claims, with limited supervision.  Identifies appropriate options for management/senior leadership consideration, makes recommendations as necessary, and writes summary reports to support employment-related business decisions.
  1. Interprets human resources policy and procedures to employees and managers.  Makes recommendations to HR Director and management on identified opportunities for policy, procedure, and process improvement.   May develop policies and procedures.  Provides education of new policies and procedures. 
  1. Conducts workforce data analysis, prepares summary reports, develops and recommends strategies and actions indicated by such data. 
  1. Participates in curriculum design and delivery related to New Employee Orientation, management education and supervisor skills development, both for large class settings, small group, and individual education.  Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for improving management skills. 
  1. Leads or participates in activities related to compensation such as job description development, providing council to management on compensation related issues, compensation analysis and development of recommendations.

  1. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Report all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.


B.S./B.B.A. in business administration, human resources or another complimentary field. Applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.


Five plus years human resources experience with a minimum of three years of experience at a higher level directly related to employee/labor relations, organizational consulting, recruitment, compensation, and benefits administration.


None Required. PHR or SPHR designation is preferred.


Ability to interact, influence and partner with managers and executives to achieve positive results for the organization. Solid experience with the utilization of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to identify and effectively utilize resources to accomplish multiple tasks with high priority. Ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify appropriate resolution for routine and non-routine issues.
