POSITION PURPOSE:

This position supports the compensation function by developing and administering WoodmenLife’s pay philosophy and programs as well as analyzing compensation data and trends.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluate new and existing positions by investigating and analyzing position duties and responsibilities to determine appropriate classification and salary levels; conduct desk audits as necessary.
  • Develop, implement and administer new compensation policies and programs that align with organization’s strategy.
  • Research and recommend new and/or revised incentive design models for non-exempt, professional and executive-level roles.
  • Develop, implement and communicate the approach to annual performance increase and incentive processes to include recommending the budget, developing necessary tools to plan and working with an outside vendor to deliver an on-line tool.
  • Perform detailed analysis on compensation metrics; provides summary analysis of results of all compensation programs.
  • Develop job descriptions to accurately describe job content and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Develop and/or participate in various compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position.
  • Consult with Talent Acquisition Consultant and HR Consultants regarding new hire offers, policy interpretation, market analysis and other compensation projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare special studies and recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation plans and rewards/retention programs.
  • Partner with HRMS administrator to ensure systems meet compensation needs and are updated to reflect changes to salary structures, etc.
  • Review existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action.
  • Develop and analyze all pertinent compensation reports.
  • Assist HR Consultants and Benefits team with projects as assigned by management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive compensation analysis experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing rewards programs and policies.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel functionality.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated project and process management skills.
  • Ability to create and/or re-engineer processes to help provide the highest quality product and services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Adheres to the core values and moral principles of the business and values diversity in others through mutual respect.
  • Able to build relationships with internal and/or external customers to ensure expectations are exceeded
