We are looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Training and Development to join our team of Human Resource Professionals in Hanover, PA.
As an experienced HR Professional, this position will create training and development programs, performance management and other initiatives designed to bring out the best in associates, our team and our Company.
The Senior Manager is directly responsible to aid in creating a framework and design process to drive individual career growth and development, organizational talent capability, and business results. The qualified candidate for this position must have a minimum of 7 years’ demonstrated experience in training and development. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, advanced, excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, and business acumen and savvy. This position will report to the Senior Director, Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with and engage HC colleagues and business leaders in active team and individual development opportunities;
  • Develop organizational strategies and solutions to drive organizational performance; and
  • Drive a culture of career growth, talent mobility and enhanced associate engagement and leadership across the organization.
  • Training and Leadership Development: assess needs, design, deliver and measure the outcomes and success of talent and leadership development solutions. Serve as a resource for facilitation, leadership training, coaching, mentoring, and consulting to build readiness in the leadership pipeline.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the development of long-term talent management and talent building.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and respective HC partners to diagnose onboarding, training and development needs.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and HC partners to identify needs and create talent and leadership development strategies and approaches.
  • Conduct external research on best practices and learning and development innovations relevant to our Company and industry.
  • Oversee the Company’s LMS, insuring the system is being used and delivering the best possible value for associates and the Company.
  • Identify, leverage and deploy programs, experiences and tools to drive development opportunities at various levels of the organization.
  • Develop and manage a training and communications calendar and activities that promotes ongoing development opportunities.
  • Create tools and resources to support the creation and execution of individual development / talent plans that both support individual career growth and build organizational effectiveness.
  • Establishes professional working relationships with other outside HR professionals in order to share best practices and obtain bench-marking data.

  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in a training and development role with demonstrated success in developing and executing talent development strategies and processes, including training and leadership programs, career development and management.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required. A Master’s Degree is desired but not required. Preferable areas of study include organizational behavior, I/O psychology, HR, education, or training and development with a solid base of professional certifications or continuous education and qualifications within the learning and development field.
  • Experience developing and delivering “from scratch” training and development materials and programs.
  • Experience assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing, and evaluating the effectiveness of tools and programs.
  • Experience with vendor selection and management.
  • Experience with budget management.
  • Demonstrated successes with analysis and resolution at both strategic and tactical levels. A passion for both high level strategic thinking and working with detail, such as design, editing, facilitation, and training logistics.
  • A desire to help employees at all levels of an organization to succeed, from the basics of how to do a front-line job to advanced level leadership skills.
  • Advanced, excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, adaptable for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • A collaborative work style, strong facilitation skills, and the ability to consult, advise and build trust at varying levels of an organization, from front line manufacturing, to field sales, to the C-Suite.
  • Business acumen and savvy. Experience in sales and manufacturing organizations desirable but not required. Strong employee and customer orientation.
  • Strong project management skills, including influencing team members without authority, keeping decision-makers on track, complex implementation considerations, and timely delivery based on scope and desired business outcomes.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, dynamic and rapidly changing environments, and building from scratch.
  • Ability to travel both locally and out of state, including some occasional overnight trips.
