We’re not like a lot of other companies with broad corporate structures, and we don’t want to be.

The Role

We’re a small company that’s growing fast. We need a part-time, freelance Staffing & HR Generalist to handle all of our HR needs, which primarily means organizing contracts, onboarding new team members, conducting and reviewing salaries and raise requests and implementing a formal performance-review process.

As a distributed company with team members all over the world, a successful Staffing & HR Generalist at Matador will not only have all the necessary HR skills, but is also comfortable working remotely and operating in a non-traditional environment. We abhor corporate culture and you should, at the very least, understand that and bring that understanding to our first conversation.

  • Conduct performance reviews.

  • Conduct wage scale surveys and implement a process for systematically reviewing salaries and raise requests.

  • Organize and archive contracts.

  • Process new hires, promotions and terminations.

  • Perform job evaluations and job analyses in order to standardize job descriptions, roles.

  • Conduct and analyze satisfaction surveys.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, especially regarding salaries.

  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

  • Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.

  • Maintains listing of approved positions along with assigned salary grade levels.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in human resources and staffing.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience working in a distributed workforce and/or in a startup environment.

  • SHRM certifications are nice but not required.

  • Fluency in online productivity tools, including email, Google apps, online conferencing, Dropbox, Slack, etc.

  • A passion for travel and adventure sure helps around here!
