Job Title:

  • Supervisor, MDT.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop team to ensure internal and external client satisfaction. 
  • Provide development opportunities, workload assignment, performance feedback, and guidance for day-to-day issues for associates.   
  • Accountable for the performance of team deliverables/ objectives, maximizing resource potential, influencing hire/termination decisions, and ensuring operational effectiveness to manage, service and grow Valassis client base.  
  • Ensure flawless and efficient service to designated clients.
  • Plan for proper team resources through consultation with sales, clients, and associates. 
  • Evaluate workload volume and account complexity to manage attendance, overtime and recruiting needs. 
  • Approve time records/time-off requests as required. 
  • Assign responsibilities based on skill sets and balanced allocation, and communicate success measures for same.   
  • Interview and assess potential internal and external candidates. 
  • Complete appropriate paperwork involved in transfers and new hires.
  • Motivate, develop, and support associates in day-to-day job performance and longer term career objectives. 
  • Cultivate an open communication environment which encourages candid professional discourse. 
  • Assess performance against job requirements and objectives, and provide feedback on areas of achievement / areas for improvement. 
  • Positively challenge associates to perform at peak capability. 
  • Recommend performance awards and/or merit increases when appropriate. 
  • Manage performance improvement plans as required.
  • Consult and solve problems for day-to-day issues. 
  • Provide guidance on solution development to associates. 
  • Demonstrate and encourage associates in personal accountability for identifying "win-win" solutions. 
  • Utilize industry knowledge, internal and external collaboration, and independent business judgment to analyze potential options and determine best case outcomes, escalating as appropriate. 
  • Initiate team project work to develop prevention of issue recurrence and/or in anticipation of future challenges or opportunities. 
  • Manage implementation of solution, including client positioning and negotiation as required.
  • Provide employees the information, technology and reference materials necessary to perform their jobs.   
  • Create a climate emphasizing continuing development and present opportunities for future growth and advancement. 
  • Assist in setting department and associate goals and objectives. 
  • Understand and educate on diversity and inclusion.


Additional Duties: 

  • Interpret and monitor performance against organizational goals and policies.
  • Support and utilize management systems and tools to identify and evaluate workforce metrics and trends
  • Effectively coordinate leadership of associates across different office locations and time zones, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
