POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, Regular


Child Care Aware® of America is our nation’s leading voice for child care. We work with more than
400 state and local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies to ensure that families in every
community have access to quality, affordable child care.



This position will partner primarily with the Parent and Provider Services team and others as
required in identifying talent to fill a variety of roles that facilitate access to quality,
affordable child care for families. In addition, the talent acquisition specialist will assist
with the onboarding of new staff and ensuring related administrative duties are performed in a
timely manner.


Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and pro-actively assist hiring managers to execute timely recruitment
actions that accurately reflect the responsibilities of the position and adheres with Child Care
Aware® of America’s standard of hiring high-quality people.

• Advertise job openings internally and externally. Post open positions on job boards, college
career services offices, professional associations, and Child Care Aware® of America’s web site.
Seek innovative and cost-effective recruitment strategies, platforms, and tools to broaden
the search for qualified candidates.

• Source, screen, and interview applicants to obtain information on work history,
training, education, and job skills for open positions.

• Schedule and coordinate on-site interviews in conjunction with the hiring manager.

• Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers to stay abreast of current and
future hiring and business needs.

• Advise managers and employees on relevant staffing policies and procedures, as

• Complete appropriate paperwork for new hires, terminations, payroll action forms
and changes to keep payroll informed in a timely, accurate manner.

• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed, forms are accurate and administered in a
timely manner.

• Assist the HR Programs Manager with onboarding new employees.

• Assist with the maintenance of the human resource information system database.

• Ensure employee bulletin boards are current; post memos and federal law posters.

• Assume other duties as assigned.



• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience

• A minimum of 2 years of direct work experience in human resources administration,
specifically, recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding.

• SHRM-CP or PHR desired.

• Demonstrated understanding of principles, practices, and/or office procedures of Human
Resources, including some or all of the following: employment, affirmative action/equal employment
opportunity; principles and practices of record keeping and confidentiality.

• Experience with ADP a plus.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of federal employment laws, regulations and policies governing human resource
management functions including recruitment, staffing, position classification.

• Basic knowledge of human resources information systems (HRIS) and record-keeping practices

• Strong analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups in a tactful and effective manner.

• Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment.

• Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality, tact, and professionalism.

• Ability to research human resources management topics, organize, and analyze the data

• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely and professional manner.
