Position Summary: This position reports directly to the CEO of a fast-growing, luxury products company and is part of the senior management team. The Talent and Culture Director takes the human resources function to the next level. It’s core function is to identify and recruit the right talent to help New Ravenna grow and to implement programs that foster a high-performance work culture. The Director also support continuous improvement projects to remove waste and improve productivity. Key tasks include: developing benefits and other programs that attract and retain talent; aligning human resource policies to support company strategy and growth goals; performing Human Resource related duties at the professional and confidential level. Other responsibilities include some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment labor relations, affirmative action and employment equity programs, job descriptions, job postings, interviewing, hiring, on-boarding new employees, performance evaluations, employee terminations, PTO administration, engaging with talent at all levels of company

 Essential duties and responsibilities:

1.)    Developing and implementing a strategic talent plan to attract and foster New Ravenna’s human capital

2.)    Identifying opportunities to improve talent management policies

3.)    Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

4.)    Conducts an on-boarding program with all new hire employees to give a solid start to our future together.

5.)    Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data to make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.

6.)    Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.

7.)    Represents the company for any unemployment claims.

8.)    Facilitates and/or provides training (including on-boarding) to the workforce.

9.)    Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.

10.)Perform all essential functions in a timely manner as many have sensitive date related time-frames and consequences if not met.

11.)Interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.

12.)Ensures employee reviews are conducted on-time for new hires at 90 days and all employees at least yearly on their anniversary date.

13.)Complete, process and filing of all employee data, changes, benefit forms and other associated paperwork for employee documents. Keep all documents secure and confidential.

14.)Maintain a close working relationship with payroll department to ensure accurate and timely pay and any associated benefit deductions for all employees.

15.)Represents management in investigating, answering and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling grievance meetings.

16.)Administer and track all FMLA benefits.

17.)Respond to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges or potential issues.

18.)Work closely with the Safety Manager to record all on the job injuries for all employees. Proper recording, posting and filing of documents as per OSHA guidelines. Ensure any minor medical care is administered or sought at a medical facility. Follow up and closure on all reportable injuries.

19.)Administer all benefit plans to employees such as health, dental and vision care as well as 401k plan or any other company sponsored benefit plans.

20.)Maintain updated employee handbook which includes new/updated policies to all employees when necessary.

21.)Tracking employee termination reasons both voluntary and involuntary. Track and prepare monthly turnover report and analysis.

22.)Oversee plans and budgets for company events such as holiday celebrations, picnics, etc.

23.)Provide leadership in fostering a culture of teamwork by articulating our common purpose to all employees.

24.)Administers charitable contributions. Cultivate relationship with community leaders and causes.

25.)Consults with legal counsel as appropriate and/or as directed by the CEO on personnel matters.

26.)Set examples and lead in safety of the workforce.

27.)Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance.

28.)Act as a role model in all company policies and procedures setting high expectations for self.



Degree or equivalent of four to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a high-performance culture with structured talent development programs. Experience with process improvement. Ability to learn quickly, adjust to a dynamic environment. It is essential that a high level of confidentiality be maintained at all times on and off duty. It is essential that actions on and off duty reflect the best interests of the company at all times. This position requires the ability to research and analyze various different types of data information and the ability to present to management and/or employee staff in an articulate and understandable manner. Possess the ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues. Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law. Possess the ability to organize and prioritize work. Maintain a respectable sense of humor in all situations.

 SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred

 Work Environment: This position is located in Exmore, Virginia. Candidates will be expected to report to this location. You will work in a general office and manufacturing environment.
