Position Overview

As an active member of the leadership team, the role contributes to the Company’s growth and development through effective strategic architecting and tactical service delivery of the Human Resources function. Based in a deep understanding of the company’s business needs and functioning as a strategic business partner, The Vice President, Human Resources will initiate, implement and continuously improve effective human resource strategy policy, standards, systems and processes to achieve the Company's strategic corporate goals, including support for growth and maintaining business competitiveness.

 

Reporting Relationship

Direct report to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. 

Major Role Competencies

HR Technical Expertise: Directly manage the Human Resources function to achieve all goals identified by the leadership Team and provide accurate and timely feedback. 

Evolve HR function into a full-service department able to quickly focus on changing business needs. 

Consultation: Maintain current industry knowledge of trends, issues and challenges related to Human Resources to assist the Leadership Team in strategically positioning the company for future success. 

Communication: Develop and maintain company-wide communication processes and tools facilitating the awareness of all employees of important Company information and provide feedback to management. 

Ethical Practice: Ensure a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, a strong customer service focus and encourages individual integrity. 

Relationship Management:  Maintain a positive working relationship with all company leaders ensuring an effective and focused leadership team.  Develop and maintain other relationships as they contribute to the success of the business including community and business-based relationships. 

Leadership and Navigation:  Provide expert guidance to Leadership Team in all HR matters and input into more broad company-wide business issues.  This input is designed to shape and implement balanced and forward-thinking company direction. 

Global and Cultural Effectiveness:  Design and implement strategies to improve understanding of domestic and international employee needs to provide stability and long service for the employee base. 

Business Acumen: Recommend, develop and set conditions for achievements of the long-term business strategies of the Corporation especially as they relate to the HR function. Broad understanding and appreciation of concerns of other business functions and ability to partner with these leaders to develop and implement innovative solutions.

Critical Evaluation:  Evaluate and implement a program of continuous improvement aimed based in deep understanding and critical evaluation of company needs.  Partner with other business leaders to analyze complex business issues and develop workable solutions.

 

 

Requirements

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 15 years demonstrated successful HR Generalist experience supporting the human resources function within a mid-size technology organization and a minimum of 5 years in a business focused HR leadership capacity. 

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in HR or a closely related field, PHR/SPHR preferred. 

Demonstrated understanding of other business functions and challenges. 

A demonstrated ability to function as a business partner to Leadership Teams. 

Ability to analyze and challenge organizational norms to drive change in the organization by working with employees of varying backgrounds and organizational levels. 

Ability to work in a dynamic, high growth company environment with both a strategic and tactical focus.   

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, from various day-to-day HR activities to large-scale projects.
