ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Provide leadership and mentorship for the HR team and organization.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance.
  • Be a visible, accessible, available, collaborative leader to the organization.
  • Lead efforts to further strengthen Clinica’s people growth and development by designing and delivering training for a diverse and inclusive organizational culture, positive workplace environment, high functioning teams, effective management and leadership, exceptional customer service, and staff resiliency.  
  • Partner with the executive team to construct and execute strategic roadmaps and plans to uphold the organization’s mission, vision and values.  
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of our people.
  • Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
  • Develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs to fill those gaps. Areas of activity will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training and development programs that prepare employees for more significant responsibilities, and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the business of the organization and industry.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against relevant and comparable organizations, industries and markets. Design strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees as impartial individual and effective listener in order to facilitate the resolution of people issues.
  • Manage the budget and other financial measures and impacts of human resources and compliance.
  • Maintain a safe work environment:
  • Implement, review, apply and actively enforce the clinic’s safety policies.
  • Support the safety program by actively looking for opportunities to improve safety practices and evaluate staff for safety practices and ergonomic issues.
  • Discipline staff when safety policies are violated.
  • Compliance:
    • Knowledgeable of and compliant with all laws and regulations governing area of responsibility.
    • Responsible for reporting any potentially non-compliant conduct.
    • Cooperate fully with our Compliance Officer in upholding our Compliance Plan.

 

Other duties and responsibilities: As a leader of the organization, to be alert to and ensure that the best interests of the organization are maintained.  Work in alignment with the executive team on strategic initiatives and planning.  Participate in organization strategic discussions, and philosophical discussions.  Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Scope of authority: Accountable for workforce division budgets, expenditures and programs.  Autonomous responsibility to recruit, train, and evaluate human resources management, credentialing, privileging and the safety and compliance programs.  Communicate organization position and philosophy to all vendors, recruits and internal personnel.  Identify and resolve any counterproductive issues, internal or external.

Reports to: This integral position reports directly to the President & CEO of Clinica Family Health.

Requirements

Clinica is looking for a Vice President of Human Resources and Workforce Development with many of the following qualities:

  1. Human resource professional with excellent comprehension and experience with the human resources body of knowledge.
  2. High ethical standards and an appropriate professional demeanor. 
  3. A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment.
  4. Organized and self-directed individual who is "politically savvy" and a team player. 
  5. Articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  6. Ability to self-manage in tense and unpredictable employee situations.
  7. Educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information.
  8. Facilitator who is experienced in resolving conflicts between different parties to a dispute.
  9. Strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation and detail oriented perspective.  Ability to work in a team environment required.
  10. Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
  11. Excellent coaching skills.
