The VP of HR will provide the vision, leadership, direction and oversight to ensure the delivery of HR programs and services including organizational design and development, talent acquisition, career development, compensation and benefits, learning and development, as well as other programs, that effectively support our 900+ employees.

In partnership with the Leadership team, the VP of Human Resources will lead in the development and recruitment of top talent, design new organizational strategies, and implement a succession plan that cultivates our top performers and drives employee career plans to further support the company’s growth and evolution.

The VP of HR will lead in the development of competitive, sustainable and scalable HR programs and processes that drive improved workforce performance and engagement. This leader will support the company’s drive for continuous improvement within the HR function, drawing on internal and external best practices and leading-edge expertise on all HR operational strategies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellence in the delivery of HR programs and services including organizational design and development, workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, career development, employee relations, compensation and benefits; as well as other programs that attract, develop, and retain talent.
  • Prioritize and execute multiple initiatives aimed at supporting the performance, development, reward, engagement and retention of employees.
  • Lead the strategic talent management framework which includes the lifecycle activities of acquisition, onboarding, development and retention of all employees.
  • Drive strategic HR change efforts within the organization including organization design and change management.
  • Maintain, monitor, and reinforce all HR policies and practices ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Mentor and develop the HR team in various areas of HR specialty; provide substantive technical advice and knowledge to support the development of team members.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to maximize employee engagement.
  • Implement and maintain an effective succession plan, including management development and employee career path programs appropriate for supporting and sustaining the company’s growth.
  • Lead all benefits functions, including design and administration.
  • Exhibit the core values for the company, department, employees and business partners.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by adhering to policies and procedures set out by the company.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • 10 years of progressively responsible HR leadership; PHR certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field with a master’s degree preferred.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including employment and labor laws, employee relations, management & leadership development, performance management, organizational design and compensation.
  • Strong business partnership: able to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and counsel employees.
  • Strong business acumen, facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to design and facilitate organizational change utilizing a full spectrum of change methods.
  • Experience in the negotiation, design, implementation of employee benefits and competitive compensation plans.
