Vice President, Human Resources

Your responsibilities

Summary of the role; The Vice President, Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plans and strategic direction of the organization. The VP, HR provides overall leadership of human resources in the U.S. and Canada to ensure the function’s effectiveness, consistency, and compliance according to established guidelines and budgets. This position reports to the U.S. based President and CEO. 

Responsibilities will include; Provide overall leadership, guidance, and development of the HR function by directly overseeing HR systems, learning and development, recruiting, compensation, and HR compliance. Partner closely with HR business partners HR operational services that support the business. Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives. Function as a strategic business advisor to executive/senior management of each business segment regarding key organizational and management issues. Develop and implement compensation plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the organization, supporting recruit/retain/reward strategy. Lead and drive business engagement within the HR group. Provide leadership in coaching and advising HR Managers and business leaders across the organization to ensure consistency and compliance with all applicable laws, policies, regulations and collective bargaining agreements. Operate as change management leader and thought partner throughout the organization by educating, advocating, and guiding business leaders, managers, and HR Managers. Develop the strategy to manage, monitor and improve employee and labor relations including negotiation and litigation. Lead and drive culture and engagement throughout the organization. Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate, and format data and reports.

Your profile

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities will include;  Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Strong business acumen. Strategic viewpoint and ability to translate business needs into HR action plans. Effective People leadership and development skills.  Solid knowledge of Federal and state employment laws and regulations; keeps abreast of the legal environment.. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels within and outside the organization. Strong influencing skills and strength of character. Ability to present and communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Cultural awareness and acumen. Strong networking, communication, and collaboration skills. Analytical skills, data driven. Ability to travel; up to 30%, with first year requiring greater than 50% due to size/geography and team development. 

Minimum Qualifications;  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Human Resources At least 15 years of experience in Human Resources, with a strong multi-functional HR background At least 5 years in a senior leadership role, working with executive management Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing effective HR solutions that meet business needs Change management leadership experience Solid working experience with all Microsoft office applications 

Additional Desired Qualifications;  Master’s degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development HR certification SAP HCM /
